Rainy morning. Went to Bourton and found Bro. & Sis. Alford pretty well. Their son Wm. was at home on a visit. Conversed with him about an hour, enlightening him all I could in regard to the gospel. Bro. Eli wilkins, who had been removed from the Wiltshire Conference, and appointed to labor at Exeter with Bro. Phillips, had visited Bro. Alford's, by advice of Pastor Neslen, and had left them that afternoon for Sherborne; and I, deeming it wisdom, left there at 8.30 P.M., and went to Sherborne, 14 miles, arriving rather tired, at 11.45 P.M. Slept at Sister Burnett's.
