trip I went to Easttour and visited a young woman I had visited a number of times before. Found her very uneasy. A man she was keeping company with was using his influence to prevent her being baptized. I gave her such instructions as I thought wise under the circumstances. While in Gillingham, I called at a house where I had sold 3 tracts the week before. Was invited in. Had over an hour's talk with the head of the house. He brought forward a great many scurrillous reports that had been refuted many times. I refuted them as fast as he produced them, and, when I refuted one thing, he would jump to another. Finally, he said he could not believe all I said, neither could he disprove it. I bore a faithful testimony to him, and sold him 5 more tracts. He now has the whole series, and I pray my Father to let his spirit attend the reading of the same, that he may be convinced of the truth. Went to Bourton. Slept at Bro. Alford's.
