open air. Gave notice of meeting. Sang, prayed, and sang again. No one came to stay. Went to another place called Gaurelton. Gave notice. Held meeting. Bro. May spoke awhile. I then bore testimony. We were unmolested. A spirit of indifference prevailed among the majority of our hearers. Only a few paid any attention, and one woman brought two chairs for the sisters to sit on. Returned to Taunton. In the afternoon, held meeting at Bro. Criddle's; administered the Sacrament, testified, and had a good time. Met at Mrs. Gould's in the evening. Bro. May and I occupied a little time each, and enjoyed the spirit of the Lord. Slept at Bro. Dean's.

June 1, 1857.
Went to Bradford, accompanied by Bro. Dean. Visited Bro. Collard and family. Returned to Taunton. Partook of refreshments, provided by the saints, at Bro. Barrell's. 23 of us sat down and enjoyed the good things provided. The charge was 6d each. It was got up by Bro. & Sister Dean and others for 7s - 9 ½ d. Surplus - 2s - 6 ½ d, which, with a little more. Was divided between Bro. May and me. After this, we assembled in Bro. Barrell's workshop, and spent the evening in singing Zion's songs, reciting, and addresses, closing about 10.30 P.M. Our hearts were glad, we were blessed with the spirit of the Lord, and there was not much room for the devil in our midst. Slept at Bro. Dean's.

June 2, 1857.
In company with Bro. May, visited some of the saints. Visited June 3, 1857.
Spent the morning writing to Prest. S.F. Neslen, and in my journal. In the afternoon, went to Stourton Caundle. Visited sister Eliza Lemon, and found her feeling well. Then traveled to Marnhull, and found sisters Warren and Ayles all right. Slept there.
