While showing my dad how great the internet is we stumbled across this site,
must say the receding hairline and nose look quite familiar.
We (as far as I know) are descendants from Jack Jefferies who came over with the
1920 settlers from the UK. Great site.

I'm an old friend of Julena Jefferies Shupe and remember her Dad from long ago.
Sorry to hear of his death. My own father passed on a few months prior to Martin's, in California.
Please e-mail me if you see this, Julena.

Fascinating site and great information.
As I'm sure you know pre-1750ish the Jefferies were predominantly in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
My ancestors are originally from Wiltshire so I'm probably not connected in any way!
Our family have managed to move all of 180 miles in 300 years. Not so impressive as William Jefferies.
Good luck with all your research.

I stumbled across this site while doing a google search on my surname,
and what a surprise i got. Many of the old pictures actually look like my family now.
Funnily enough it is the nose of the Jefferies that made the shock.
Maybe somewhere down the line we are part of the family tree.
We have a few of us left here in England, and some in Australia.
Keep up the good work, as i will be visiting this site many times now.

Enjoyed browsing through your site.
I'm sure we're related somewhere back, although I couldn't find any easily identifiable links.
I am a convert to the LDS church, the first in my family line that I knew of,
until I discovered a 3rd or 4th great aunt, Eliza Jeffries Slack,
who joined the LDS church in England, and emigrated to America.
Thanks for putting this all together. Great site!

Hello, I am from Indiana and I have a grandpa named William Jeffries.
I was looking and I was wondering when the name changed spelling a little.
My great grandfather's name was William Jeffries as well, and he was from Kentucky.
I just thought that it was so neat that there was a website williamjefferies.org

My father was Ivan Jefferies, raised in Comber Ontario Canada.
His mother was named Florence, and I think his father was named William.
I also think that I was told that his family came from Bristol England.
Dad died when I was 6, and I know nothing about his family, except the names of some of his siblings:
Arthur, Edith, Dorothy, Kay.
If anyone knows anything about this family, I would appreciate knowing more about my heritage.

I want to thank all of you that are keeping up this site and providing information.
Aunt Sarah Jefferies and my mother were sisters. So I am very interested in the Marvin Jefferies family.
I happened to find the site by accident and then found out that many of my cousins had been in Grantsville for a reunion.
Then today I find out that my cousin Marvin has died and that his cousin (unrelated to me) also died who happens to be
married to my cousin Camille from my dad's side of the family. I offer my condolences even though very late to Marvin's family.
By the way I also found out that Bill and his wife are in South Africa.
After reading all this I feel like I just came out of a dark hole.

I just wanted to say how truly inspiring it is to see a web-site like this.
I love the genealogy and the pictures associated with each family.
Please keep up the great work. If ever there is a cost involved to keep this site up and running,
then I would love to offer assistance. I am a great-grandson of James Williams (through Jean).
I would love to send pictures of my family. Please let me know if I can send some. Thank you.

Lovely site, lovely to read, so many photographs, I wish I had as many of my family.
I am related to Mary Ann Thirby/Tharby who married Thomas Flinder here in the UK. Her sister Alice b1862 was my GGrandmother. I would love to hear anything about her and the family.

Thank you so much for putting this site up my dad told me about it and I was very interested to see who my ancestors are especially since my generation hardly knows about any of that stuff. I think it's really cool too see that I have so much family with the same last name and how interesting it is to see how far we have come. Keep up the good work and hopefully one day i will be able to put my children on there and continue that family name. Keep up the good work.

My Sister, Shiela Cranney Loomis of Moscow, ID. sent me your website of William Jefferies. What an exciting hour of reminising of reading and looking at photos. What a wonderful thing you have done, Michael. I am trying to do something on my father's, Samuel Flinders line.
I am the son of Lola Jefferies Cranney, oldest daughter of Henry Jefferies and Edith Elmira Cooley. I have one Aunt, still living, who lives in Salt Lake City. [801-277-0545]
Thanks for all you have and are doing, Kay Flinders, kflin.fam@networld.com

Interesting website, my father's name is William Jefferies and I did a google search on his name and came across this website; the most ironic part is that I am also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. No doubt we are all related. I would be interested in meeting some of you.

I have enjoyed your site.
I have not completed all the searches I want to, but I think I link in with Sarah Elizabeth Flinders 1898 to 1995, the daughter of John Thomas Flinders born 1870. If I am right, Sarah Elizabeth's grandparents were Thomas Flinders and Mary Ann Tharby 1849 - 1923. Mary Ann Tharby was born in Hunsdon, Hertfordshire, England and I am a descendant of one of Mary Ann's uncles.

Enjoyed your site. I think I link in with Mary Ann Tharby born 1849 to William and Ann Tharby in Hunsdon, Hertfordshire, England. She married Thomas Flinders then Francis Evans and died 1923 in Salt Lake City. If so, I am a descendant of one of Mary Ann's uncles.

My brother just informed me of this site. I am truly amazed how well it is put together. I have been following the family history for a very long time now. My nephew is a 7th generation William Jefferies. It is great to see so many people following their family history. My father is William Ray Jefferies, son of William Clark Jefferies. And so on....and so on. Keep up the good work with this site, I can't wait to tell my father about it and my other brother about it.

Thank you for creating this site. I have since told my Uncle Kenneth Jefferies about the site and we have both found it interesting. Still trying to get my father, William Ray Jefferies, whom now resides back in his birthplace of Grantsville, online. I know he is interested. Just need to get out there and help him get going on the new technology wave of the Internet.

I can only say ditto to what the previous commenter, my sistor Sharon Jefferies, had to say. She sent me the link this morning, very touching being able to look back at the family history. Hope in time to meet many of you. Remember well trips to Grantsville & Tooele. Between Sharon & I hope to provide further update and pictures of the 'William Clark Jefferies / Gertrude Hudson' residence.

The family web site is awesome. I have learned so much about my ancestors, that my own family knows so little about. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to this web site. It looks like you all had a great time at the 2004 reunion! I hope to come with my family the next reunion. Thanks again for this great site!

I am a direct decendant of Mary Francis Ould, nee Fox, mother of Mary Frances who married William Jefferies. I have been researching my family tree and could not believe my luck when I found this web site. I am decended from Mary Frances Jefferies brother Samuel. I was deeply moved when I saw the family photos and read Chris Jefferies book 'Zion's Promise'. I would be most interested to hear from anyone who has any information on the lives of my Gt Gt Gt Gt Grandmother and Aunt, both in England and America, or any other 'Ould' family members in England.
